About the performers
Columbia Blue originated in the lively corridors of Shawnee Mission East High School in 1972, where John, Jim, and Evan first combined their musical talents. As former key members of Rock Garden, they've now reunited to invigorate the folk-rock scene with a fresh twist. John's dynamic vocals and guitar work, Jim's skilled keyboards and resonant backing vocals, and Evan's nuanced percussion create a rich, full-bodied sound. They're not your typical nostalgia act; they're pioneers returning to the stage with original tracks and reimagined classics, making every performance a thrilling encounter with the past and present. This trio continues to captivate audiences, blending the familiar with the new in every show.
Venue seating
The auditorium has 186 seats, including 104 general admission theater seats, 26 reserved theater seats, and 56 seats at 15 different tables.
What we offer our patrons
The Aztec Shawnee Theater has NO advanced ticketing fees!! The price you see online is the price you pay! Ticket pricing does increase the day of the show. Tables with seats that include admission to the venue are available (while supplies last) either in the VIP section, or near the front of the stage.
Food and Beverage options INCLUDING A FULL BAR
Our full bar includes domestic & craft beer, as well as a full selection of alcohol and specialty drinks. Soft drinks, popcorn, and snacks are also available at the bar, and outside food from the local downtown Shawnee restaurants and grills can be brought into the venue (we love helping to support our businesses friends in downtown Shawnee). No outside drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are allowed in the venue.
